On Friday, May 14, 2004, the last day of the 2004 session, HB 852 was filibustered by Senate Minority Floor Leader Ken Jacob (D-Columbia).  Senator Jacob is currently vying for the office of Lt. Governor. According to records on file with Missouri Ethics Commission, his campaign recently received money from big pharmaceutical companies.

We believe he should be held accountable for placing his political aspirations above the needs of children.

On Friday, May 14, 2004, Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack signed into law SF 2209 banning mercury in vaccines.
